Epic day of fishing in San Diego

Went out fishing in La Jolla kelp a couple of days ago with my brother-in-law and fishing buddy. I've been doing a lot of freshwater fishing lately, so I was really looking forward to do some saltwater fishing for a change.
We launch on my buddy's boat, a 22 foot Skeeter, at about 6:30 am. Got to the kelp bed and line on the water by 7:00 am. Not much action for 1/2 hour, till we moved over where some lobster traps were. Short time after we got there, saw lots of baitfish boiling, so we followed them the whole time catching fish after fish. We were hooking up big 5lbs calicos, big mackerels, bonitos, baracudas, sand bass and small white seabass. We fished for 4 hours, lost count on how many fish we actually caught. What an epic day of fishing, water was glassy the whole time, warm sunny day. I've forgotten how fun it was to saltwater fish, can't wait to get out again next weekend.
Weapons of choice: 7' medium-heavy action rod, abu garcia baitcast reel with 10lbs maxima line
Lures of choice: I was using 4" swimbait in sardine color, but tried other colors & they work just as well. Had the swimbait on a 3/8 ounce hammer head in yellow color. My buddy was using slug in green color with the same kind of leadhead.
